Choosing a Calm Water Curtain
Choosing the right calm water curtain will depend on several factors including the following:
- Project Duration
- Amount of Suspended Solids
- Location (DOT or non DOT site)
For short term projects, the Type 1 Economy or the Type 1 Mini is often the most economical solution. These curtains feature a 13 oz. fabric and are connected via grommet connectors. Locations with DOT requirements or long term control will often require the Type 1 DOT. The DOT curtain uses an 18 oz. material for higher strength and containment.

Moving Water Conditions
Need to control turbidity in moving water conditions? Check out our Type 2 or Type 3 Turbidity Curtains. These barriers are specifically designed for turbidity control in moving water conditions up to 1.5 knots and waves up to 3 ft. Depending on your location, additional components such as tension cables, bottom ballast chains and high strength fabric may be included to help keep your barrier in place.
Realizing that locations often require site-specific designs and curtain construction, we also frequently manufacture our curtains to custom designs. Just send us your spec sheet and we will work with our team to build a curtain that matches your application.
