Choosing a Calm Water Curtain

type 1 curtainsChoosing the right calm water curtain will depend on several factors including the following:

  • Project Duration
  • Amount of Suspended Solids
  • Location (DOT or non DOT site)

For short term projects, the Type 1 Economy or the Type 1 Mini is often the most economical solution. These curtains feature a 13 oz. fabric and are connected via grommet connectors. Locations with DOT requirements or long term control will often require the Type 1 DOT. The DOT curtain uses an 18 oz. material for higher strength and containment.

Moving Water Conditions

Need turbidity control in moving water conditions? Check out our Type 2 or Type 3 Turbidity Curtains. These barriers are specifically designed for turbidity control in moving water conditions up to 1.5 knots and waves up to 3 ft. Depending on your location, additional components such as tension cables, bottom ballast chains and high strength fabric may be included to help keep your barrier in place.
