Silt and Turbidity Curtains for Rough Conditions

silt curtainTriton Type 3 Silt Curtain is one of the strongest available barriers for controlling silt, turbidity and suspended solids in a moving water location. Often used in locations with tough or demanding water conditions, these curtains are commonly used in applications with high currents, demanding silt containment jobs, or tidal influences. The Type 3 silt curtain is similar in both design and style to the Type 2, but will include additional tension cable components to help with demanding locations. Type 3 floating curtains are available in both permeable and impermeable models.

Choosing a Type 3 Silt Curtain

floating silt curtainAny time you are considering a Type 3 Silt Curtain, the first factors you will need to address are your water conditions. Type 3 Curtains are typically our highest strength barrier and are most commonly used for demanding projects or water conditions. When considering the right barrier for your site, please note the current speed, waves (height and frequency), and wind (speed and direction). Knowing these factors can help you determine which Type 3 curtain you require, how to anchor, and how long the barrier would need to be in the water.
